Jonathon Marek

Jonathon Marek is a project assistant with NBR’s Center for Innovation, Trade, and Strategy.

Mr. Marek conducts research and assists with several of the Trade Center’s projects, including the China Strategy Task Force, the IP Commission, and projects related to digital trade. Prior to joining NBR, he served as an intern for the Paulson Institute’s Green Finance Center, where he analyzed the environmental impact of China’s Belt and Road Initiative projects.

Mr. Marek is a junior at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, where he is majoring in International Political Economy and studies China’s domestic politics and rural development as a Mortara Undergraduate Research Fellow. He is interested in understanding the intersection between economic and trade ties and political and strategic concerns in the Asia-Pacific region.
