China’s Economic Statecraft
The Bertelsmann Foundation and the National Bureau of Asian Research developed an animated video to show the importance of cooperation between the United States and other likeminded countries to respond to China’s economic statecraft. It specifically considers China’s retaliation against South Korea over the THAAD missile defense system and the impact on the South Korean economy as an example of how China utilizes economic coercion to achieve its strategic objectives.
