Xiaodon Liang is a Research Assistant with the Political and Security Affairs group at NBR.

Mr. Liang assists staff with research and project management tasks related to NBR’s ongoing activities, including the Strategic Asia, U.S.-China Relations in Strategic Domains, and Space, Cyberspace, and Strategic Stability projects.

Prior to joining NBR, he completed a MALD at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Mr. Liang was previously a Student Associate with the Managing the Atom Project in the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School and a Summer Fellow at The Hague Institute for Global Justice. Earlier in his career, he interned at the Arms Control Association in Washington, D.C., after completing his bachelor’s degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Mr. Liang has also worked as a corporate analytics researcher at a financial data firm in New York. He lived in Asia for seven years and speaks Mandarin Chinese. His research interests include defense economics in developing countries and nonproliferation and arms control in Asia.
