Sheil Charles is Project Director at NBR.

As a Project Director for Trade, Economics, and Energy Affairs, Ms. Charles creates and pursues business opportunities for NBR, determines significant and emerging issues in the field, manages project teams, and is responsible for the success of research projects.

Her previous duties at NBR include management of all logistical facets of the Pacific Health Summit in 2007, 2008, and 2009, as well as a variety of workshops and meetings for NBR’s Center for Health & Aging.

Prior to joining NBR, Ms. Charles was employed at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in the President and Director’s Office, where she worked closely with the Center’s leadership and Board of Directors on a variety of events and meetings. She also worked at MIR Corporation, organizing and managing custom group tours to Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, and at Marine Resources Company International, a former Russian-U.S. joint venture based in Seattle, as an accounting specialist.

Ms. Charles received her MA from the University of Washington in Slavic Languages and Literatures. During her undergraduate and graduate years, she studied in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Krakow, Poland, and has traveled throughout Central and Eastern Europe. She maintains her ties to this part of the world by staying involved in Seattle’s Polish community and by volunteering on the University of Washington’s Polish Studies Endowment Committee.
