Rachel Bernstein is a senior project manager with the Political and Security Affairs group at NBR. In this position she manages the Taiwan portfolio, and projects relating to China’s grand strategy and U.S. engagement with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific. She also supports NBR’s John M. Shalikashvili Chair in National Security Studies.
Prior to joining NBR, Ms. Bernstein was a Department of State intern at the American Institute in Taiwan. She also studied in Kunming, China, and received the Critical Language Scholarship to study Mandarin in Tainan, Taiwan. Ms. Bernstein is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University with a BA in Asian and Middle Eastern cultures with a focus on East Asian Studies and a minor in political science.
