Matthew Boswell is a 2008–09 Next Generation Fellow at NBR.

As a Next Generation Fellow, Mr. Boswell supports NBR research projects and participates in the effective delivery of that research to the policy community.

Mr. Boswell holds an MA in East Asian Studies from Stanford University, focusing on modern Chinese history and political institutions, and a BA in East Asian Studies from the University of California, Davis. Prior to graduate school, he lived for three years in Qinghai Province, China, where he taught at the and conducted development work with local Tibetan communities. Mr. Boswell has also interned for the Beijing Center for Policy Research and studied at Peking University.
