Mary Hamilton is the John M. Shalikashvili Chair in National Security Studies and Research Programs Intern at NBR.

As the Shali Chair Intern, Ms. Hamilton provides substantive research assistance to the current chair holder, Admiral Jonathan W. Greenert, and coordinates internal research in support of various projects.

Prior to her role at NBR, Ms. Hamilton worked at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies as a Regional Security Studies Intern while pursuing her master’s degree at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa through an East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship. Her research interests include Taiwan’s Austronesian heritage and its role in Oceania, Chinese military philosophy, and U.S. engagement with Southeast Asian nations through joint POW/MIA recovery operations.
