Jonathan Walton is a Project Manager at NBR.

As a Project Manager for Publications, Mr. Walton assists in the editing, proofreading, design, layout, sales, and distribution of NBR publications, both online and in print. In addition, he assists with other NBR research programs and events.

Mr. Walton was previously a Next Generation Fellow at NBR during 2011-12, having completed his MA in China Studies at the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies in 2011. He earned his BA in China Studies at Oberlin College in 2004 and served as a China-oriented researcher with the Long Term Strategy Group of Cambridge, MA, from 2006 to 2009. Mr. Walton has three years of experience living and studying in China, including in 1998-99 with School Year Abroad (SYA), 2002-3 with the Associated Colleges in China (ACC) program, and 2004-5 as a Fulbright Fellow at Nanjing University. His own research focuses on Chinese domestic security, especially policing and ongoing tensions in state-society relations.
