Alayna Bone

Political and Security Affairs



Alayna Bone is a Project Associate with the Political and Security Affairs group at NBR. In this role, she supports work on China’s economic and geostrategic initiatives in the Indo-Pacific as well as the organization’s Taiwan portfolio.

Ms. Bone has previously interned at the Global Taiwan Institute, US-Taiwan Watch, the State Department, and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. She received her master’s degree in International Affairs, specializing in China and International Economics, from the University of California San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy, and a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She has previously studied in Taiwan and speaks Mandarin.

Her research interests include cross-Strait relations and digital policy in East and Southeast Asia.
