Statesmanship in the Statehouse
On December 9, 2015, the Slade Gorton International Policy Center and the William D. Ruckelshaus Center co-hosted their third annual statesmanship luncheon.
The lunch conversation featured four State Senators selected by Slade Gorton and Bill Ruckelshaus to discuss their views on leadership and bipartisan policy development in the Washington State Senate. Panelists shared their thoughts on the current legislative climate, along with prospects for increasing collaboration in the statehouse.
Following introductions by Bill Ruckelshaus and Slade Gorton, Renee Radcliff Sinclair, President & CEO of TVW, moderated a conversation with the following panelists:
David Frockt (D-WA), State Senator from the 46th district
Curtis King (R-WA), State Senator from the 14th district
Linda Evans Parlette) (R-WA), State Senator from the 12th district
Christine Rolfes (D-WA), State Senator from the 23rd district
In attendance were elected officials, business executives, non-profit leaders, philanthropists, university students and professors, and military officers.
