NBR Participates in the 1st East Asia Energy Forum


On August 9, 2017, NBR participated in the 1st East Asia Energy Forum co-hosted by the Energy Research Institute Network (ERIN), Philippines Department of Energy, and Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).

NBR was pleased to serve as an official organizer and the U.S. think tank representative to this event. The theme centered around the challenge and opportunity to meet growing energy needs while balancing the effects of air pollution and climate change.

The 1st East Asia Energy Forum consisted of four parts: a presentation on the East Asia Summit (EAS) Energy Outlook and three panel sessions on the sustainable utilization of coal, oil, and natural gas. With more than 15 high-level presenters and 75 participants, the forum highlighted experiences and insights from a variety of nations, including the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Japan, and the United States, among others.

The event was covered by media outlets including PhilStar, Manila Times, Concept News Central, and the Bohol Chronicle.
