Ruhi Kulkarni
Ruhi Kulkarni is a first-year student at the University of Michigan studying International Studies with a concentration in Norms, Security, and Cooperation. This summer, she is working with the Political and Security Affairs team at NBR. Her passion for international affairs stems from a desire to dedicate her life to public service to bridge cross-cultural divides. Ruhi is a research assistant at the Yorktown Institute, where she works on U.S.-Eurasian maritime and grand strategy. She is also a writer for the Michigan Journal of International Affairs, covering U.S.-Asia relations. Her previous experience includes serving as a congressional intern for Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman and researching U.S.-Japan foreign policy as part of the Stanford University Reischauer Scholars’ Program. As a Bridge to Asia fellow at NBR, Ruhi hopes to learn more about South Asian regional dynamics and China’s increasing dominance over trade in the Indo-Pacific.
