The Biden-Moon Summit

The Bilateral Agenda and Competition with China

On May 13, 2021, in advance of the May 21 summit between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and U.S. President Joe Biden, NBR hosted a virtual event to brief congressional staffers on the state of the bilateral relationship. The speakers addressed issues on the summit agenda, including the North Korea policy review, Covid-19 response, human rights, tech policy, and climate policy. The event also explored how the United States and South Korea can broaden cooperation in an era of strategic competition with China. This event was virtual and open exclusively to congressional staffers.
