Ivo Ribeiro Ribeiro

Bridge to Asia Fellow



Ivo Ribeiro is a Bridge to Asia Fellow at the National Bureau of Asian Research, working with the Technology and Geoeconomic Affairs team. Originally from Timor-Leste, he studies Economics at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, as a recipient of the United States Timor-Leste Scholarship. His academic and professional interests focus on economic development, public policy, and U.S.-Asia relations. Ivo previously interned with the Asia Foundation, contributing to research on youth empowerment and civil society in Timor-Leste. He was also an inaugural LeadNext Fellow, a flagship youth leadership program connecting emerging leaders across the Asia-Pacific and the United States. In summer 2025, he is participating in the Fund for American Studies’ Academic Internship Programs in Washington, D.C., where he is taking an economics course at George Mason University. As a Fellow at NBR, Ivo aims to deepen his understanding of U.S. economic strategy in Indo-Pacific and contribute meaningfully to policy research.
