On September 28, 2011, NBR hosted the book launch for Strategic Asia 2011-12: Asia Responds to Its Rising Powers—China and India at Johns Hopkins University-SAIS in Washington, D.C.
Robert O. Blake, Assistant Secretary of State for Central and South Asian Affairs, gave the keynote address. The second portion of the program featured a panel discussion with four of the new volume’s authors. Ashley J. Tellis of Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; Michael J. Green of Georgetown University; Teresita C. Schaffer of the Brookings Institution; and Rory Medcalf of the Lowy Institute made presentations and David M. Lampton of Johns Hopkins University-SAIS served as discussant.
