Innovation in the India-Japan Economic Relationship

On November 4, 2014, NBR and the U.S.-Japan Research Institute (USJI) convened a public discussion on “Innovation in the India-Japan Economic Relationship” in Tokyo, Japan.

This on-the-record event featured remarks by senior policymakers, including Minister Arvind Singh (Embassy of India in Japan), as well leading experts Takako Hirose (Senshu University), Amit Kapoor (India Council on Competitiveness), Roy Kamphausen (NBR), and Katsuichi Uchida (USJI).

At the event, participants examined how Japan, India, and the United States can develop stronger economic relations while sustaining a healthy environment for investment, market innovation, and overall closer strategic ties. Participants also discussed how Indian policy affects innovation and the competitive landscape in global markets.
