Pyle Center Overview

On November 17, 2006, NBR dedicated the Kenneth B. and Anne H.H. Pyle Center for Northeast Asian Studies in honor of NBR’s founding President and pioneer in Japan studies Professor Kenneth Pyle and his wife, Anne, with a two-day international conference and a formal evening gala in Seattle, Washington. The Pyle Center seeks to advance the comprehensive study of Northeast Asia.

Center projects are:

Forward-looking, analyzing topics of importance for the medium- and long-term future of the region and generating new knowledge about the deep forces and processes driving and reshaping Northeast Asia.
Bridging the often deep fissures that divide academics and policymakers concerned with the region.
